STAMFORD, CT - The main lobby of RFR Realty’ Stamford Plaza office complex has been transformed by the installation of a renowned modern art collection by contemporary artist Paula Hayes. The exhibition, entitled “Land Mind,” was created Ms. Hayes between 2010 and 2012 and includes two components, “Aquarium” and “Slug.”

The Stamford Plaza lobby has in recent years hosted numerous contemporary art exhibitions which are commission by and part of the showcase Lever House Art Collection.

Aquarium is a large, custom fabricated, cast acrylic 240-gallon aquarium, with saltwater fish and saltwater aqua-scaping, totaling 69 x 47 x 54.6 inches. Aquarium is set onto a 12 x 82 x 88 inches wood platform, and surrounded by an organic shaped “island” of tropical perennial plants in custom-designed planters. Aquarium also includes a cast acrylic “Lighting Hood” containing three LED lamp units, hanging from a stainless steel suspension system totaling 40 x 42 x 37 inches.

The second sculpture, “Slug”, is a long horizontal acrylic biomorphic wall-hanging object which is a custom fabricated, cast acrylic, with full-spectrum lighting, and tropical planting, totaling 32 x 24 x 180 inches. Ms. Hayes recently completed planting the interior of the sculpture in Stamford Plaza.

Richard D. Marshall, Curator of the Lever House Art Collection said, “The free form salt-water aquarium is filled with exotic tropical fish including clownfish, anemones and live coral and is surrounded by a jungle of tropical vegetation. It is indeed a warming image, especially as winter and early darkness set in.”

Both pieces will remain on view in Stamford Plaza, indefinitely. The collection was previously on display in the lobby of the landmarked, RFR-owned Lever House office building, located at 390 Park Avenue at 53rd Street in Manhattan.

Margaret Carlson, portfolio director of RFR Realty in Stamford said of the installation, “Land Mind is just one in a series of outstanding art exhibits on loan from the Lever House Art Collection to be showcased within Stamford Plaza. We’re thrilled to host yet another exhibit and are excited about this and future exhibits from Lever House and anticipate that our tenants and the general public will embrace the display.”

The four-building Stamford Plaza office complex, located adjacent to I-95 and Stamford Town Center, offer numerous features and amenities including typical floor plates of 19-24,000 square feet; state-of-the-art tenant-controlled HVAC; 24/7 manned security and key/card access; state-of-the-art telecommunications; 1,200-space attached parking garage; fitness center; conference facility; cafeteria; sundries shop; overnight courier drop box; ATM; dry cleaner; and car wash/detailing. The property features a light-filled atrium Plaza and overlooks a magnificently landscaped, 2.5-acre, park-like plaza with its fountain, gardens, statuary and seating areas.

In Stamford, RFR Realty owns and manages seven Class-A office buildings totaling 1.8-million-square-feet. The portfolio includes One, Two, Three, and Four Stamford Plaza, 177 Broad Street, 300 Atlantic Street, and Canterbury Green.
