Hartford Mayor Pedro E. Segarra has closed all public schools on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 to expedite continued storm clean-up. City offices are closed due to the Holiday.

"We’ve made significant progress. Roads are 90% passable. We brought in more private contractors and had 19 payloaders, 30 tri-axles 17 plows, 1 airport snowblower and 6 Bobcats working today. We’re bringing in more tomorrow. DPW crews, HPD, HFD and private contractors will continue through the night and tomorrow. The goal is to return the City back to normal by Wednesday. I tip my hat to all City employees who are working tirelessly and to Hartford residents who have helped each other during this time,” said Segarra.

Mayor Segarra also emphasized the following:

- Do not throw snow into the streets; keep on your property;

- We have towed 214 vehicles and issued approximately 540 snow ban parking tickets;

- The parking ban is still in effect; and

- Residents should stay off the roads unless it’s a public health or safety emergency.

Residents are encouraged to call the direct line at EOC, 860-757-0040 for storm matters and 911 for emergencies. For towing information call, 860-757-4000.
