Metro North will not be running trains Monday morning from any station between New Haven and Stamford, according to a letter to commuters by the CT Rail Commuter Council.. There will be, however, service from Stamford to Grand Central station and any other stations on that route.
The problem, according to the letter, is that most of Metro North's fleet is trapped in deep snow in their New Haven and Bridgeport train yards.
In the same letter, the council explains that using busses is impracticle as the would need 50 buses for one train and such a number of buses is not available at this time.
The CT Rail Commuter Council advises people not to drive to Stamford to catch a train Monday, as the Stamford parking garage is usually full by 7 a.m. every work day.
