Both The Stamford Public Schools and Norwalk Public Schools are closed Tuesday as the first snowstorm of the season is making its way to Connecticut.
Media reports also show that more than 250 schools will be closed on Tuesday. Parents should check in and find out their school's status before making plans for the day.
The National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory before dawn on Tuesday morning in effect until 5 p.m. Tuesday afernoon.
The advisory included southern Connecticut and eastern portions of the Hudson Valley and Suffolk County. NWS expects snow accumulations from 3 to 5 inches but warns that higher numbers could be posted at some locations.
Temperatures are expected to hover around 30 degrees.
