Stamford, CT - Chelsea Piers Connecticut (CPCT) is pleased to be adding three new camps to their 2015 Summer Camp roster. Full-Day Ice Skating Camp, Elite Dance Intensive Camp and a three-week Little Athletes Mini-Olympic Camp will be joining the impressive list of 37 camps offered this summer. Also new this summer, a bus transportation program will be offered for campers coming from a variety of Westchester County towns.

The new Little Athletes Mini-Olympics Camp combines three of the most popular preschool camps into a three-week program. During the half-day camp, young children ages 3 – 6 years rotate through one week each of gymnastics, swimming and skating. Each week focuses on building a strong foundation in the sport.

In Swimming Camp, children develop primary swim skills such as going underwater, swimming independently for short distances, falling in the pool and climbing back out safely. More advanced campers will work on basic swim technique and stroke development.

Ice Skating Camp is a skill intensive camp with upbeat drills designed to give kids confidence in skating. Campers will learn how to stand and balance on the ice on their own, as well as the basics of forward and backward skating.

In Gymnastics Camp, young athletes experience real gymnastics equipment sized just for them in a fun, safe environment. Campers work on improving coordination, strength, balance, spatial awareness, flexibility and more. Instructors also reinforce, basic cognitive skills, such as letter, number and color recognition.

Also new in 2015, Full-day Ice Skating Camp features on-ice instruction, dance rotations and all of the other tremendous amenities of full-day camp, including rec period and lunch. During the week-long camp, an experienced coaching staff introduces skaters to the excitement and fundamentals of skating, whether they are learning to skate for the first time or looking to improve their skill-set. In addition to an ample amount of on-ice time, campers will also rotate through a fun-filled schedule that complements the development of their skating performance. Off-ice activities, including daily sessions in the brand new Dance Academy, are structured to build strength, grace and balance in a fun and supportive environment.

The Dance Academy Summer Intensive program is designed for developing dancers interested in building a strong foundation for both physical and artistic growth. During each of the two week-long sessions (July 13 -17 and August 17 – 21), participants are exposed to the key components of the art of dance, with an emphasis on technique, choreography, injury prevention and proper nutrition.

This year, Chelsea Piers Connecticut is also excited to announce a new bus transportation option for Westchester County campers. During camp weeks 4 – 7 (July 6 – July 31), bus transportation will be offered to and from CPCT for full-day campers ages 5+ living in Pelham, New Rochelle, Rye and Harrison.
