Maritime Rowing Club announces its summer sessions of rowing, and learn-to-row sessions for high school, middle school, and adults. There is a competitive program for junior rowers, as well as different levels of training to others from the beginner to the advanced rower returning to the sport. The internationally well-known coaching staff offers an opportunity for all levels to become competitive and develop their potential with solid rowing skills and team fundamentals.

Summer camp will cover water safety, rowing basics, strength training and rower stretching. Fundamentals of handling a racing shell from the simple task of getting it into the water, to making adjustments to the equipment for proper rowing efficiency are all part of the curriculum. The Maritime Rowing Club makes its home in a full facility boathouse, with a complete indoor work out area, weight training equipment and indoor rowing machines, as well as offering a full compliment of boats to row.

Classes for the recreational program run weekly, and there are three sessions available daily from June 20 through Aug 8. Classes are morning, mid-day and late afternoon.

The Camp fee is $200 for one week, $380 for two weeks, or $1,000 for the entire 8 week program. The competitive program is $1,400 for an 8 week program and provides 2 row sessions daily (9-11am, and 3-5pm) Eligibility is determined through the club’s head coach, Yan Vengerovskiy.

The Water Sports Center, home of the Maritime Rowing Club, and the New Canaan High School Crew team is located at 11 Goldstein Place, East Norwalk, CT 06855. For additional information and registration please visit us at www.maritimerowing.net or call at 203-854-5492.
