Stamford, CT - After a successful 2012 Summer Tennis Camp season that hosted more than 100 junior players, registration for Shippan Racquet Club’s 2013 Summer Camps is now available. Morning sessions, Monday – Friday, will feature Summer Junior Camp and a Tournament Training Program Camp.
“Our Summer Camps have always been a staple of our Summer programming,” said Barb Cavaliere, who is the manager of the facility. “We are thrilled to offer our communities’ children the opportunity to stay active throughout the Summer at our Club.”
Children ages 4-10 in the Summer Junior Camp will use the 10 and Under Tennis format. “It has revolutionized the game and helps our teaching professionals enhance the experience for our younger players by making success achievable at a faster rate, The courts are smaller and easier to cover, the ball bounces lower and more slowly, and the racquets are easier to grip and swing for children’s small hands,” Cavaliere commented.
The Juniors’ 11-17 Camp will include tennis instruction, stroke and movement drills, strategy, on-court games and prizes.
The Tournament Training Program consists of disciplined technical training, applied mental skills training, and practical nutrition education.
All programs consist of 11 individual weeks starting June 10 and ending the week of August 19. For the 10 & Under program, two juniors can be registered for the price of one. Details regarding the times, dates and costs are available at www.shippanracquet.com.
“We have a program for every level of player,” stated Director of Tennis, Gwinyai Zengeni. “Our staff has the tools and knowledge to help every junior reach his or her tennis goals.”
