We visited Buffalo Wild Wings on a Friday night in May and the place was packed! Interestingly, wings must be popular with the high school crowd, as most of the dining room’s occupants were surely on a curfew. While it did take a while to get in and a little while longer for someone to come to our table, the service was very good afterwards. The food was excellent and it did manage to make us forget our initial frustration with the organization.
They do have both regular, as well as boneless wings that can be basted in one of the many signature sauces that they have. For starters,
a good bet is the sampler that features boneless wings, onion rings, deep fried mozzarella sticks and nachos.
For cocktail lovers, the MVP margarita looked appealing. A nice beer selection is, of course, available, and for the rest, the bottomless glass of cola ensures a refreshed palate all night long. The lounge area around the bar was lively and fun and the plethora of TV screens will keep you updated on your sports wherever you are seated.

84 Park will be a new ultra lounge that will open at the previous Thirsty Turtle location. And yes, we asked… The answer: “You never know who will be there, so you’d have to come and find out.” I think we surely will!
BUtterfield 8

Opening: Opened/May 2009
Address: 112 Bedford St, Stamford CT
Crowd: Young & trendy professionals
BUtterfield 8, the old posh telephone exchange (area code) in New York City is now part of the Stamford nightlife fixture. Opening at the place of the old Temple Bar, BUtterfield 8 is the most ambitious nightlife project on Bedford street in quite some time. We were given a private tour of the place in May and the first floor features the main bar area along with a few “Hollywood-style” séparés, which are a bit elevated and with a separate area for comfort and more space for their occupants. The first floor also has a large dining room that can be used for VIP parties, corporate functions and private engagements.
The second floor has two more rooms that can be used for parties or additional lounge space.
The kitchen features bar type comfort food at moderate prices. The bar has an extensive liquor and beer selection and can muster up your favorite cocktail in no time.
Even more tasty choices
Two other establishments that are slated to open doors this summer in Stamford are the popular in New York restaurant Mary Ann’s featuring Mexican and Latin fair and the already established in Connecticut Barcelona Restaurant and Wine Bar.
Mary Ann’s is opening at 184 Summer Street and Barcelona - at 222 Summer Street.
While this is the first Mary Ann’s location in CT, Barcelona is already popular with socialites in Norwalk, Greenwich, Fairfield, New Haven and West Hartford.
