***image3***Danbury, CT - The votes are in, and Anthony’s Lake Club is a winner! This quietly elegant full-service event center located directly on Lake Kenosia has been named a top venue by readers of The Knot, the nation’s largest bridal media network. Located next to Kenosia Park on Danbury’s west side, Anthony’s Lake Club is tucked away in the trees, yet convenient to I-84 and the hotels on Mill Plain Road—making it an ideal locale for weddings. Its newly renovated banquet hall, whose large windows overlook serene Lake Kenosia, can accommodate up to 200 guests for dinner, while in warm weather guests can enjoy cocktails and sunset views on the adjacent deck. With its two gazebos, flowering foliage and a picture-perfect garden arbor, the deck is also a wonderful spot for a small wedding ceremony. “My husband and I looked all over for places to hold both our ceremony and reception,” wrote one local bride on “When we came across Anthony's Lake Club, we knew immediately this was our dream! The deck overlooking Lake Kenosia was perfect—especially since we were getting married at sunset.” This couple also chose to host their rehearsal dinner at Anthony’s Lake Club, which speaks to the venue’s versatility as well as its customer service. In addition to the formal banquet amenities, two newly-built outdoor pavilions can accommodate up to 300 people for more casual affairs. The Knot, with 17 regional bridal magazines and more than 3 million unique visitors to its websites each month, is a well-known and respected resource for those planning a wedding. Each year it polls its readers to find vendors who represent the “Best of Weddings” in each region. Making this award even sweeter is that it comes directly from recent brides...a discerning group that can be difficult to please. ***image2***“We received all five-star reviews from brides whose weddings we hosted in 2011,” says Anthony’s Lake Club operations manager Manny Perna, who would settle for nothing less. “That’s not an easy score to get. But if we get four-star reviews, we’re not doing enough.” “Our goal is to offer a comfortable yet elegant environment, and good food at a reasonable price,” says chef-owner Rocco Perna, who has operated Anthony’s Lake Club since 1995. Starting out with a passion for cooking, Rocco soon developed his enterprise into a full-service banquet facility. Today, he and his devoted staff (most of whom have been with him for the full 17 years) offer complete event-planning services, working with engaged couples to choose everything from linens and flowers to photographers and DJs. “We offer brides a friendly face to lead them through the process,” says Rocco. When customers call, it’s Rocco or Manny they speak to. When they come in to plan the menu, they sit down with the chef himself. Anthony’s Lake Club brides and staff soon get to know each other on a first-name basis. “Rocco, Manny and [maitre d’] Tommy did an excellent job of planning and carrying out every single detail that was important to me on my big day,” writes member Kelly Ann, whose reception was held at Anthony’s Lake Club in August 2011. “They introduced me to my DJ and photographer, as well as the bakery that made my cake. It was a huge weight off of my shoulders to have other quality vendors chosen for me.” “There isn't anything I could say that would praise them enough,” another bride says of Rocco and his team. “They assured me that everything would go smoothly and wonderfully…and it did. The food was excellent, the music was perfect, the chocolate fountain and dessert table were delicious, and the flowers outside were beautiful. I am amazed at how perfect the night turned out to be! It couldn't have been done better by anyone.” Of particular acclaim is Anthony’s “Divine $99” package, available Fridays and Sundays, which includes a sit-down or deluxe buffet dinner for 100–200 guests, plus: a five-hour open bar; cocktail hour with hors d’oeuvres; champagne toast; wedding cake; chocolate fountain; photographer; DJ; and overnight bridal suite accommodations—all for a flat rate of $99 per person. ***image1***“We chose the ‘Divine $99’ package and couldn't have asked for anything better,” says Dawn, whose wedding was held at Anthony’s Lake Club in January of this year. “It made it so much easier to have everything practically done for you.” This package is only a sample of what Anthony’s Lake Club offers—the variations are limitless. “We can design a menu for any event around a customer’s budget,” emphasizes Rocco. “We’re willing to work with people to give them a beautiful party with a beautiful view at a price they’re comfortable with.” That goes for all types of parties, whether it be a Sweet 16 celebration, bar mitzvah, special anniversary, fundraising event, awards banquet, retirement dinner, family reunion, bereavement luncheon or even a corporate seminar. Anthony’s Lake Club also offers off-site catering for events at homes and offices. Newlywed Kelly Ann is keeping this in mind. “[My wedding] was truly the happiest day of my life, and I have these guys to thank for helping me organize such an amazing day,” she says. “I will definitely be back for future gatherings that I need to plan.”
